For Block 4 (1)We are happy to announce that the Manatee Education Foundation will continue to support Nature’s Academy and our work bringing science literacy to Manatee County students!

Since 1988, the mission of the Manatee Education Foundation is to provide funding for programs that enhance educational opportunities for students and teachers of the Manatee County School District. This is the only foundation in Manatee County that solely provides funding for prekindergarten through 12 grade public education. All of their hard work directly benefits students by providing endless learning opportunities that may one day benefit our community. For additional information about the Manatee Education Foundation, please visit their website.

For Block 4 (2)As one of the Manatee Education Foundation’s partners in education, Nature’s Academy is looking forward to a brilliant partnership for the 2016-2017 school year! Our mission is to enhance science literacy and foster environmental stewardship through experiential, outdoor programs. None of which, would be possible without support from our donors.

We thank the Manatee Education Foundation for their generous support at the Bull Shark Level and cannot wait to collaborate once again. Nature’s Academy sponsorship levels represent invaluable members of our estuary’s food web. As each of our organisms contribute to ecosystem health, our sponsors play a key role toward increasing STEM and environmental literacy throughout the community.

For Block 4 (3)

One of the programs that the Manatee Education Foundation supports is our STEM Literacy Project. This Project provides free comprehensive programs to 5th grade public school students within Manatee County. By providing scenarios where experiential learning can occur, we are teaching our students how to think instead of what to think. This Project not only promotes STEM literacy, but also answers the education crisis in Florida. Sadly, more than 50% of 5th grade students are failing science. However, our organization has the opportunity to change all that. For the 2015-2016 school year, Nature’s Academy served over 2,700 Manatee County 5th grade students and provided the Science Literacy Project to all Manatee County’s Title I elementary schools. We also facilitated over 34,000 student hours committed to science literacy and environmental stewardship and removed over 500 pounds of marine debris during the Science Literacy Project. Best of all, 100% of all our students demonstrated learning gains.  If you believe in what we do and want to get involved, we’d love to have your support.
