Each year, the Manatee County School district honors outstanding businesses with its Business and Education Partnership Awards. Now in its 25th year, the annual award ceremony recognizes the people and companies who are making a difference in the lives of Manatee County school children. Impressed with Nature’s Academy’s dedication to bringing experiential outdoor science education to Manatee County’s fifth-graders, the district gave Nature’s Academy the “District Wide Partner” honor.
“We stand by our commitment to provide science literacy to Manatee County,” says founder Dana Pounds, “and look forward to many more years of working together reaching more students and inspiring a love and stewardship towards our planet.”
Nature’s Academy stepped in five years ago to fill a need for outdoor science education for Manatee County, and the school district singled out Nature’s Academy among others as model representatives for contributing time, talent and resources to the county’s schools.
“We deeply appreciate this recognition from the Manatee County School district,” says Dana, “and congratulate them on their willingness to encourage and acknowledge the businesses in the community that are working hard to support the schools. It is a wonderful partnership.”
